XiO Photonics is an innovative company with a strong competence in products based on Integrated Optics, Light-on-a-chip. XiO Photonics primarily focuses on the design and assembly of modules that incorporate the optical chips for products in visible light applications.
XiO is located in Enschede, the Netherlands in close vicinity of foundries, research institutes and universities both in the Netherlands as well as Germany. This ensures us to be state of the art in the field of integrated optics.
Besides our primary focus, XiO Photonics also exclusively distributes the product of RGB Laser Systems and Opterna in the Benelux. These products supplement and strengthen our product portfolio.
Mission
XiO Photonics wants to be an important international supplier of integrated optical modules (light on a chip) for laser technology in visible light applications. We want to enable new applications by removing the barriers imposed by the complexity and intense maintenance of current existing technology. By using XiO Photonics’ product Laser Photonics becomes simple and robust. The customer benefits since his systems become more compact, simpler and more efficient.
Integrated Laser Beam Combiner
The first product of XiO Photonics is the Integrated Laser-Beam Combiner (ILBC) that combines up to 8 visible wavelengths from fiber-pigtailed lasers into one single mode and polarization maintaining fiber. The first applications for this product are Confocal Microscopy, Flow-cytometry and foodsorting. All applications where different visible laser colors needs to be combined benefit from this technology. It increases the compactness, the stability, the polarization, etc of most optical combiner setups. The ILBC enables new markets for these applications as it support a more compact and very stable device opening up complete new markets.

XiO Photonics first class team has in-depth knowledge and years of hands-on experience in Micro- and Nanotechnology, design, fabrication and assembly technology, as well as the markets for integrated optics and photonic devices. XiO Photonics is creative and innovative, and continuously contributing to moving forward the front-lines of photonics markets.
